The Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) and the muscles supporting it may become painful indicating the onset of Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD). TMJ can be caused from untreated teeth clenching, teeth grinding or trauma to your mouth. Often, stress is the reason for overuse of the muscles. We recommend an evaluation by a TMJ specialist to determine the cause of your jaw pain.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends children see their dentist after their first teeth erupt or by their first birthday. Dr. Gregson fabricates non-invasive, corrective appliances that help move the jaw forward, causing the airway to open and allowing the patient to breathe better. Sleep apnea should never be ignored. Our office always recommends the CPAP as it is the industry gold standard. Our sleep apnea appliance is for those who are unable to tolerate use of the CPAP.
